Our History

Northern Pines Greenery, Inc. was established in 2000. Owners Alec and Christine both have their degrees in horticulture and can answer all of your gardening questions from the simple to the most complex. In 2001, we built the first of our greenhouses to house our annuals and other products. In 2005, we built two more greenhouses to expand our offerings to our customers. Over the years we have added and remodeled our nursery lot and store to accommodate our growing business and make your shopping experience a memorable one.  In 2012, we purchased a second location in Hazelhurst.  We are now able to serve our customers better with the same level of products and services we have at our Minocqua location.  Stop in and see what we have done so far and keep coming back because we are always changing and growing.  Below are pictures of our store mascots and official greeters both past and present.  They can be seen most of the time at the Minocqua location when they aren’t vacationing at the lake.

Hunter (Nov. 25, 1999 to Nov. 12, 2012) was our official greeter when we opened our doors on April 28th, 2000.  He will never be forgotten for his love of people and his fishy friends in the greenhouse.  He will be truly missed.

LilyLily (August 28, 2006 to ) began her official greeting duties on November 6th, 2006.  She loves to greet the customers at the counter.  She also loved to follow her Uncle Hunter around up until his passing.  Now she is showing her cousin, Blake, how to take his greeting responsibilities seriously.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABlake (September 1, 2012 to ) began his duties as greeter on November 24th, 2012.  He has lived up to the expectations that his Uncle Hunter had set as official store mascot and greeter.  He loves to greet the customers at the counter and loves to follow Lily around.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESDaisy (November 5, 2014 to) began her duties as a greeter on January 6th, 2015.  She loves the attention and will make sure that you see her.  She has picked up her greeting duties from Lily and Blake perfectly.
